What a adapter does

An adapter changes one plug or receptacle style to another, for example a generator outlet to an RV or transfer-switch cord. Use only where the amperage and polarity match.

Safety and installation

SafetyNever plug a generator or battery system into a wall outlet to power the house ("backfeeding"): it can send electricity back into the utility lines and injure line workers, and it can start fires. Connecting a generator to a home's wiring is a job for a licensed electrician, with the permit and inspection your local code requires. Wattstanding does not give wiring instructions.

Compare this with other equipment in the transfer switch library or use the compatibility matrix.
